I'm not gonna say who thinks which things, but a quick question for everyone. Which would be better in a forum - the current system, where posts appear chronologically at the end of the thread they're posted in, or a youtube style system where posts are stacked and replys to individual posts appear immediately after that post, regardless of where that post is within the thread?
All comments/questions/inanities welcomed and encouraged by both contestants.

Definitely the current system.
This thread was such a let-down. I was hoping for a no-holds barred, grudge-match poll.
I'm changing the title to avoid disappointment.

Well the 'YouTube style', as Diarmuid calls it, would lend the whole thing a much more 4chan-y feel... but I'm not terribly pushed either way, tbh. I'm happy with how things are at the moment (even if the graphics could do with a bit of sprucing up).

Well I would have loved to do a direct response to robs comment but tom got a post in before me. With a gap like that it is hard to make a connection between the two posts and I might aswell just give up.

You're right, Dónal. The whole quote system really falls short when trying to connect two posts.

Just using a bit of the aul hyperbole to get my case off the ground.

While I resort to "actually understanding the words I'm using". Who will win? Find out... right now, actually.
Hard luck Dónal, maybe next time.

By the way, I really dislike the YouTube system. I suppose it's okay on that actual site, because of the sheer amount of posts that go through there, but on other forums it just wouldn't work.

Well I guess this quote system is one way to connect posts together, although it is a bit more awkward in the way it takes up a lot more space. DiarmuidAnyway, when I used the phrase "with a gap like that" I was trying to convey that the gap between the two posts was huge when it really wasn't => hyperbole So tell me master, where am I going wrong?

I think you'd have to actually describe the gap for it to count as hyperbole, as opposed to just alluding to it.

And when the fukk has space ever been an issue when posting on a forum, Dónal? I mean really? That's no excuse.

No, that last one actually went to Tom. I'd smite you too but your already so far down there that it doesn't make any difference.
